Recently, Testpoint conducted 10 qualitative interviews with migraine patients on behalf of a major pharmaceutical company to gain their opinions on commonly used medications for this widespread condition and to determine whether there are any unmet needs that could be addressed.

How the test was conducted

Testpoint recruited 10 patients who frequently suffer from migraine and use medications to treat their symptoms. The sample was a mix of men and women of different age groups, and since the interviews were conducted online, it was possible to select individuals from a variety of geographic areas.

These qualitative interviews aimed to identify migraine patients’ issues, their expectations regarding commonly used medications, and any unmet needs that could be addressed.

The interviews were conducted online: at the scheduled time, the patient connected with the moderator via videoconference on a platform, where a conversation began. The patient was invited to discuss migraines, their frequency, whether they were related to specific events or situations, whether they were more or less disabling, and, most importantly, what medications they were taking, what their effects were, and what characteristics an ideal medication should have.

The focus of the interview was not on the medications themselves, but rather on the patient’s perceptions, their problems, whether commonly used medications were meeting their needs, or whether they identified areas for improvement in terms of efficacy, speed of action, and any side effects.

The interview lasted approximately 60 minutes.

The client had the opportunity to watch and listen to the interview live.
